It's a bit of a random theme but I keep seeing elephant paraphernalia everywhere at the moment and I do love those gentle giants. So, here are a few of my favourite elephant-themed pricey items.

I love this Elephant Storage Hook. It adds a touch of fun to a simple element in the home. I also like the vintage style of the elephant hooks.

The Floral Elephant

This colourful Elephant Parade Flower Impression elephant is perfect for adding a weird and wacky touch to your home. This is part of The Elephant Parade which has seen large elephant sculptures decorated by artists around the world; this is a limited edition miniature. This week's If I Were A Rich (Wo)Man wishlist is inspired by spring and all the flowers it's been bringing out. Here are a few of my favourite floral-themed goodies.

The Louche Payton Flower Dress from Joy has proper zingy spring florals in fresh green and purple. The floral print is eye-catching and pretty, plus, I love the classic fit and flare style of the dress.

If I Were A Rich (Wo)Man - Chinese New Year

This is a little late, apologies, but the January illness still had a hold of me yesterday. It's still got me today but it's now February so it's not quite as strong.

This week's (belated) If I Were A Rich (Wo)Man wishlist is inspired by the Chinese New Year. I don't usually like to cash in on these things, but I've noticed a lot of lovely oriental-inspired homewares recently so the timing seemed pretty good.

So here you are, four of the best, and most expensive, Chinese-themed home products.

The Oriental Rug

This lovely Kodari Garland rug from Kelaty has a distinct oriental feel with the blossom detail. I love the peacock colours of blue, green and purple. It also comes in red.

It makes a great central piece for a room.

The Chinese Horse

I don't know why I like this Stone Horse from Shimu so much, but I really do. The horse is sourced from Guilin in southern China and is crafted from stone.The rustic feel of it is timeless. Also, it is the Chinese year of the horse, so this ornament is particularly fitting for this wishlist.

The Chinese Cabinet

Orchid are the top UK purveyor of Chinese furniture and antiques, this Red Decorated Sideboard is a great example their amazing pieces. I love the detail and the traditional Chinese feel. Also the deep red colour is beautiful.

The Chinese Tea Jar

Infused with an oriental feel, this Darlian Blue and White Ceramic Tea Jar from Artisanti depicts scenes from traditional Chinese life. Blue and white is a timeless mix that gives this piece an authentic Chinese look. It would be great for its original use as a tea caddy, or would look lovely just displayed on a shelf.

Keep Time with This Week's Clock-full Wishlist

I'm still into the home purchases and this week's wishlist features clocks. I love clocks, not just because they tell time, but because they can be decorative pieces as well. Here are my top clocks, at top prices.

The Mantel Clock

This Quirky Ceramic Mantel Clock by Ian Roberts is weird and wonderful. Available from Iapetus, the clock is handmade and painted a light blue. I love the surreal look and the twist on the traditional mantel piece clock.

I love this railway station style clock from Artisanti. The Metropolitan Large Round Wall Clock has a grey aged metal rim and an antiqued white face with Roman numerals. It's perfect for a vintage look in the home, though it is a metre wide so you'll need plenty of wall space.

The Colourful Clock

The rather unimaginatively named Wall Clock with Solid Centre from Littlewoods is a great mix of old and new; the aqua colour provides a fresh, modern feel while the distressed industrial look gives it a traditional look. I also love that it has cogs on display.

The Map Clock

The Personalised Map Clock from The Contemporary Home makes a great gift, but I'd like to buy one just for myself. You can select the map area you want by providing a postcode; you could have your home, where you grew up, or somewhere else meaningful. I also love that the map has an aged look; very vintage.

If I Were A Rich (Wo)Man - Sofa Seating

I'm still very much into my home products at the moment, last week it was crockery, this week it's sofas. It's a rather random choice for a wishlist I know, but I just keep spotting really lovely seating. Maybe it's because my own sofa is covered in fur and dog foot prints from this guy.

Anyway, here are some lovely sofas that my dog would definitely not be allowed anywhere near.

The Striped Sofa

The Twin Stripe Sofa from Sweet Pea and Willow is an original design that combines a modern feeling with traditional touches. The neautral colour would blend with most colour schemes but the beige does not make it boring, this is a really fun sofa that also has an elegant look.

The Love Seat

I'm not usually into purple in the home but I love the sumptuous shades in the French Funky Upholstered Designer Love Seat from Chichi Furniture. Combined with the silver frame it's a luxurious sofa but also a, dare I say it, 'funky' one. It's also got a bit of a Great Gatsby feel, which you've got to love.

The Chaise Longue

It's not technically a sofa but the Versailles Gold Chaise Longue from The French Bedroom Company is so beautiful that I had to include it on this wishlist. If you were going to lie around on this then you'd have to be wearing some kind of flowing nightie. It's the perfect thing to faint onto.

The Blue Sofa

This is a rather simple sofa, but I love the deep blue colour and the vintage style. The Chesterfield sofa from Debenhams also looks rather squishy and comfy, which is what I really look for in a sofa.

Priced £800, it's down from £2000 so it's practically a bargain!

If I Were A Rich Wo(Man): Cracking Crockery

Lovely Tableware Sets to Get Your Mouth Watering

There's something about January that makes me want to nest and clean the house. It's probably the stereotypical new year new start thing; it makes me do a massive clean out in January. The only problem is that I then get a huge urge to buy all new homeware.

Last week I was dreaming about new bedding, this week I've been looking at tableware sets.

I'm spectacularly broke this month so I won't be purchasing any of this lovely crockery, but I can still wish.

The Blue Set

There's something so classic about blue and white, in all sorts of homewares, not just dining. I like the delicacy of the design of the Blue Hand-Painted Ceramic set by David Pantling from Iapetus, especially when contrasted with the chunkiness of the pottery.

This teapot is amazing, very Alice in Wonderland.

I feel this is a mug I could have a proper cup of tea in.

Unfortunately the mug alone is £19.95.

The Ethnic Set

The Wanderer crockery collection from Creative Tops is inspired by travel and Far Eastern markets. I like that the dinner set is full of colour and you can mix and match pieces instead of having all the same shades and pattern. It's very eclectic.

The set isn't available until February 2014. The pieces are actually quite reasonably priced, but I'd want to buy them all, which would definitely set me back.

The Luxury Set

The Butterfly Home Range by Matthew Williamson from Debenhams includes a lovely peacock tea set. Including a teapot, cake stand, cups, saucers and more, the collection has a vintage feel and is colourful but muted.

The tableware range also has a slight Oriental look, with the peacocks and the detailing.

The Cartoon Set

The Moomins, who doesn't love them? The classic cartoon is iconic and easily identifiable. Cloudberry Living has a fun range of Arabia Moomin Adventure tableware which I would love to have in my kitchen.

I like the limited use of colour; it highlights the main black and white images.

Bed Down in Style with a Sumptuous Duvet Set

Happy 2014 everybody! I hope you all had a lovely New Year.

It is now, unfortunately, January again, the month of broken resolutions, lingering Christmas decorations and empty wallets. I plan on spending most of January in bed; frankly it's too cold to go outside. I'll be snuggling under my Asda duvet set, but I really wish that I could be sleeping on one of these beauties below. That's right, this week's If I Were A Rich (Wo)Man wishlist is all about bedding. I can't afford any of them but hey, I can dream (get it?).

The Cottages and Castles bedding is made by Lush Designs. I've featured one of their bags before as I love their whimsical and natural homewares. This duvet set intersperses trees with dreamy dwellings. It comes in several colour-ways, but I think black and white is my favourite.

Featuring large blue flowers, the Skye duvet set from Blue Bell Gray has a lovely watercolour design. I love the contrast of blue and white.

The Bear Duvet Set

How awesome is this By Nord Bear bedding from John Lewis? I love bears; the black and white shades and the realism provide a Nordic feel that makes this a fun and modern duvet set.

The Vintage Style Duvet Set

I love the combination of yellow and grey in this Morton Bed Linen in Ochre by Christy. The bedding is available from House of Fraser and ranges from Double to Super King size. It's got a heritage feel that screams luxury, yet the colours provide a fresh, modern touch.

If I Were A Rich (Wo)Man: Christmas Decorations

I know, I'm sorry. I promised another wishlist for Friday and I let you down again.

A combination of work, wisdom tooth pain and a restless dog conspired against me and I didn't have time.

It's a bit late but here is this week's wishlist of expensive goodies themed, fittingly, around festive decorations.

The Bauble

This Chinese Hand-Painted Cranes Glass Bauble from the V&A Shop is beautiful and delicate. I love the colours and the Oriental theme, which I wouldn't normally associate with Christmas, but that I think works.

This would look lovely on the tree, but any more than one and I'll be bankrupting myself.

The Candle Holder

This pair of Leaping Reindeer Tealight Holders has a rustic look that would work with a minimalist Christmas décor scheme as well as a traditional one. I love that even though they are simple, they are also beautiful.

The Wreath

This Christmas Berry Wreath from Velvet Brown has a classic feel. I'm not a fan of the really modern wreaths that are made from lights, bits of metal or fur (I did see a fur one once, why would you put that on your door?). I like to see a wreath with a bit of greenery.

This one features festive greens and reds, plus the traditional pine cones, berries and cinnamon.

The...Octopus?

These little guys caught my eye. They're not exactly traditional but I think these Octopus Christmas Decorations would brighten up a tree.

Park your posterior on these pricey cushions

Have you noticed how cushions are getting more and more expensive? I definitely have. I've wanted to buy a few recently but every time I see a cushion I like, I check the price tag and it's an extortionate price.

Yet, I'm still drawn to them. So this week's If I Were A Rich (Wo)Man Wishlist is made up of expensive cushions.

There's something strange about these owls, they've suddenly sprouted horns. I love the surreal aspect of the Twin Owls Cushion by Kristjana S Williams from Rume. It's got a woodland theme, which is very on-trend at the moment. The blues and purples make it stand out from the usual greens and browns.

Upcycled Marmite Cushion - Little Mill House

Love it or hate it. I love the Upcycled Marmite Cushion from Little Mill House. It's a retro take on the iconic Marmite jar. The red background makes it pop.

The Willow Pattern Cushion from Jan Constantine features a classic Oriental pattern. Jan Constantine is an expert stitcher, so the cushion is beautifully hand-embroidered.

As dogs go, I prefer larger breeds. But this Pug Cushion from Fenella Smith caught my attention. I think it's the expression of the Pug with the monocle. The cushion's got three pugs on the front and a repeat pug pattern on the back and it's made from 100% Scottish linen.
