This Week's Wishlist is Giving Me An Earful

Excuse the bad pun, but this week's collection of expensive lovelies is themed on earrings. Why, I hear you ask? Why not I say; earrings are one of my favourite jewellery types; they can make any outfit and light up a face. Here are four of my favourites.

The Chandelier Earrings

You've got to love a good pair of chandelier earrings; you immediately feel fabulous whenever you put them on and they give any outfit a dramatic edge. I love the coffee colour of these Kate Spade Chandelier Earrings from Selfridges. They're flecked with gold glitter to add a bit of sparkle.

The Stud Earrings

People tend to ignore stud earrings; you wear them when you're a 12 year old with freshly pierced and painful ears, then you put them to the back of your jewellery box and forget them. But studs can add a subtle lift to your look. I particularly like these Turquoise Stud Earrings by Toosis at Boticca.

They're a little larger than your average stud earrings so make a bit more of an impact, plus, I love the contrast of turquoise and gold.

The Pendant Earring

This dainty but devilish Tiny Sin Pendant Earring is from the new Pearlgatory collection from Smith/Grey. The Pearlgatory is described as "a place of purification and temporary punishment." Sounds like a fun spot to be. The earring is designed to be worn by itself instead of a pair and features a tiny safety pin combined with a dark pendant drop.

The Delicate Earrings

These pretty What's Vine is Your Earrings from ModCloth caught my eye; I love the nature theme and the simplicity of the gold and white.

They're not actually available yet but they are coming soon.

If I Were A Rich (Wo)Man: Festive Food

I'm Embracing Christmas, the Time for Eating, with a Food-Themed Wishlist 

This is the first If I Were A Rich (Wo)Man wishlist I've done in a while, apologies for that. I will be back to writing one every Friday from now on.

As it is now December and we are closely approaching Christmas, this week's theme is one of the most important aspects of Christmas, food!

This is a collection of pricey food and food-related items that will have your mouth watering this festive season.

The Fancy Cakes

Aren't these cupcakes beautiful? The Marie Antoinette Collection Couture Cupcakes by Rosalind Miller Cakes come in a pack of six and are delicately decorated for a vintage theme.

When they're so pretty I don't much care what they look like, but they are supposed to be delicious too, they're Madagascan vanilla with buttercream and fondant.

They're delectable, but a pricey £48.

The Tea Dress

Not a normal tea dress, but a dress with actual tea-cups on it. The B+AB I.T Tea-Cup Print Dress from Selfridges is made from jersey, so it's warm and ideal for Christmas. The cute tea print is typically British, and I love the cut and the black and beige colour.

At £70 it's reasonably priced for a well-made garment, but still too much for me!

The Harrods Hamper

A Christmas hamper is a classic for the festive season, but Harrods always outdo the competitors. Called The Ultimate, this Harrods hamper has a fitting name as it is full of the most delicious, and expensive, drinks and food. Included is cognac, several wines, biscuits, cheese, meats and Christmas pudding. Faint-making.

A ridiculous £5,000!

The Fruit Necklace

I've included Alex Monroe's jewellery in a wishlist before. I love this man's jewellery, it's delicate yet full of character. I particularly like the Split Peach Necklace from Alex Monroe's new collection, Banquet. A fitting name for this wishlist. The detail is amazing and it's an unusual piece.

At £150 I can't afford it, but if anyone wants to get it for me for Christmas then I'd be very happy to accept it!

If I Were A Rich (Wo)Man: Druzy Jewellery

This week's wishlist is made up of sparkly druzy (or drusy?) finds with a high price tag.

I'm not sure what the correct spelling is, I'll go with druzy for now.

Druzy jewellery is becoming popular, but it has been around for a number of years. Sometimes known as druse or quartz, druzy is a group of small crystals formed on and in rock, such as agate. It comes in lots of different colours, making it ideal for jewellery.

Wearing this Crazy Lace Agate Druzy Ring from Glenn Designs, you'd know you had a piece of the natural world on your finger. It's carved from agate and features druzy crystals that formed within the cavities.

Jetta Druzy Cuff - Style Arrest

The chunky quality of druzy stones means they work well with cuffs. This Jetta Druzy Cuff from Style Arrest also includes zirconia and black onyx. The geometric shapes provide an Art Deco look.

Now this is a necklace and a half! The Titanium Druzy Necklace is sold by silverrushstyle on ebay. It's a real statement piece that would be best shown off with a plain top or dress.

I love the colours in it and the almost Grecian style.

This week's wishlist is based on old Hollywood glamour.

Why? Why the hell not? Sometimes we need a bit of glamour in our lives and the ladies of the Golden Age of Hollywood, like Ginger Rogers up there, did it properly.

If I Were A Rich Wo(Man): Animal House

Welcome to another list of beautiful items that I can't afford. Following on from last week's woodland trend theme, this week's wishlist is based on animals. Critters of all types seem to be popping up in fashion and homewares at the moment and I'm not complaining.

The fox is a a popular woodland motif and one that always seem to be in fashion. I particularly love this Prowling Fox Ring by the very talented jewellery designer Alex Monroe.

Still, like the Hare Cushion from last month, £95 is too much for a cushion. I'd be scared to sit on it.


Back to the woods for my next want.

Carousel Pencil Skirt by DB Berdan - Wolf and Badger

The contrast of the stripes and the hare print in this Carousel Pencil Skirt by DB Berdan is fantastic. I also love the colours; it's pastels Jim, but not as we know it.

For my final wishlist item I'm moving away from the furry, woodland animals and onto the scuttling, beach dwellers.

Valentino Haute Couture Fall Winter 2013

A golden crab adorns this pearlescent clutch bag from the Valentino Haute Couture Fall Winter 2013 collection. The whole range is ocean themed, lots of octopus. I particularly like this bag because it feels that if you stare into it long enough, you'll see your future.

I suspect that never in my future will  be able to afford this crab.

If I Were A Rich (Wo)Man: Woodland Wonders

The woodland trend has been going strong for a couple of years now, both in fashion and homeware. It can become easy to get sick of the twee foxes and rabbits adorning jumpers and tea cups, but I've got to admit I still like the forest fashion. That's why this week's wishlist is woodland themed.

The illustrations from this company are lovely, they have lots of designs; cats, rabbits and bees. But the foxes are my favourite. £21 isn't really that expensive, and it is practically a work of art. I may splurge on this one.

I love the Hare Appliqué Cushion from Rose and Grey, especially the patchwork style and the vintage textiles. However, it's £75, for a cushion. I think if I actually had £75 I wouldn't spend it on a cushion on principle.

If I Were A Rich (Wo)Man: Happy Hippy

I was going to do a royal baby themed wish-list this week but then I caught on to myself; I'm not sure I can handle much more. Although little Prince George's birth has been very useful for discounts.

Instead, with the sun shining and the heat still going, all I really want to do is hang around in fields in a long white dress and listen to Bob Dylan on repeat. Therefore, I've got a hippy themed wish-list.

I've got to start with a dress and this Mi Amore Lace Dress from Free People is ideal.

Another piece of jewellery now. If you get the Etsy newsletters you may have already seen this ring. I spotted it and fell a little in love.
